More than 50 years after its launch, the King Seiko VANAC watch has been reborn with a new movement and a strong, angular design.

    The case and dial design are inspired by the Tokyo skyline, a landscape famous for its depictions in art, film and popular culture, whose rich expressions change depending on the time of day. While the VANAC watch has a strong and dynamic angular shape that makes it look as if it was carved from a solid block of metal, its frameless design creates an elegant and slim appearance. The newly designed bracelet is achieved by combining links with a mirror and fine line finish, providing comfort on the wrist and an unmistakable sense of luxury and sophistication.

The beautiful finish of the new movement can be seen through the sapphire crystal back of the watch. In fact, the new VANAC features the first transparent case back on any King Seiko watch since the collection’s relaunch in 2022. Caliber 8L45 achieves a 72-hour power reserve thanks to an improved mainspring and is accurate to within +10 to -5 seconds per day. It was designed to have the durability and other features required for the movements that power today’s mechanical sports watches. Combining high performance with functional beauty, Caliber 8L45 represents the pinnacle of Seiko’s mechanical watch movements. The new series is offered with dials in shades of purple, navy blue and silver, each color inspired by the Tokyo skyline at a different time of day: dusk, midnight and sunrise.
