For over 25 years, Maurice Lacroix has been creating retrograde displays – a rare complication that has become the brand's signature. To celebrate this anniversary, the Manufacture, located in Saignelégier, Switzerland, is unveiling its 26th Masterpiece caliber, featuring a retrograde day of the week display, a large-format date display, and a captivating skeleton dial. With its exquisite craftsmanship and attractive price, the 1975 Master Grand Date Retrograde pays homage to the brand's heritage and offers a new perspective on watchmaking.

Over the years, the company has accumulated significant experience in producing watches with this complication, ensuring that each model boasts excellent functionality and reliability, as well as easy and comfortable readability. Retrograde displays, while still a relatively rare complication in the watch industry, have long been a hallmark and symbol of Maurice Lacroix.
By mobilizing their technical skills and expertise, the creative team at Maurice Lacroix set out to create a timepiece that would perfectly combine aesthetics and functionality. The result of this meticulous work is the Master Grand Date Retrograde 1975. The watch features a skeletonized dial, revealing several elements that are usually hidden from view. The underside of the mainplate is visible through the front crystal and features a sandblasted and rhodium-plated finish, which highlights the indices located above. Rhodium-plated bridges with a Trait tirée pattern rest on the mainplate, creating a contrasting tone. The trapezoidal hour and minute hands are finished with white Super-LumiNova®, and the dial is framed by a rhodium-plated outer flange. A retrograde index, located at the bottom of the dial, displays the day of the week in a format convenient for the wearer. A blue hand begins its weekly journey by first indicating Monday and then moving to the right. When it reaches the end point and Sunday ends, it moves to the left, and a new weekly cycle begins.
The watch is complemented by a black calfskin strap with an alligator texture and is decorated with Embossed with the "M" logo. Thanks to the Maurice Lacroix Easy Strap Exchange system, the owner can easily change the look of their watch without tools in just a few seconds.
